Fish needs air too

Posted in General on May 10th, 2010 by Ravi

Just like humans need water, fish need air too. Fish breathe oxygen that is dissolved in water with their gills.

So if you thought you can just leave your fish in a pond and forget about it and check after 10 years to see if it has grown, you are wrong. Ponds need air too. Even plants that grow in ponds need CO2. Therefore, all plants need a pond aerator to supply all life in it with air.

Too bad the human body doesn’t have digital copying system

Posted in General on May 10th, 2010 by Ravi

Remember the good old video cassette recorder? I used to play with it a lot. I record stuff from TV on to a tape, and take it to the vendor and tell him that the image quality is bullshit. One day he got bored and he took out a player and a recorder, which were of course better makes and more expensive than mine, and he played my cassette in one and recorded on a brand new cassette with his high end recorder. After a while he played the newly recorded cassette, and the quality was shittier. Then he told me this is what happens when you duplicate. Only the original is as good as the original and duplicates are valueless.

About 5 years went by, and the Video CDs came along. I went ahead and bought myself a CD writer and duplicated all movies that I rented and stored them aside. There was absolutely no loss in quality. That was because it was Digital, only a stream of 0s and 1s, and tere can’t be much errors in copying such a stream no matter how long it is.

Likewise, a human body is made up of cells, and no single cell in a human body is older than 10 years. So if you are more than 10 years old, chances are that there is not a single cell in your body that was with you at the time of birth. Cells are constantly replaced. But why do people get old then? To answer this question, the same principle of video cassette duplication applies. It looses quality.

Skin gets wrinkled, heart looses its power, and the brain can’t think as it used to anymore. This process is called ageing. If only something could be done to make this copying process more precise with digital quality, humans would never die.

I don’t know about men, but I know that women never like to give away the fact that they are getting old, and thats why you can see them using best anti wrinkle cream all the time. Well it does give some good effects, but why do women want themselves to be portrayed younger than they are.

Investmentz

Posted in General on May 1st, 2010 by Ravi

I have never been the investing type. I usually spend more money than I make. I fancy doing that. At least, I have been doing that till now. But as I am nearing 30 years of age, a voice inside my head is constantly telling me, particularly when I see a new gadget review or something, that I should stop spending and start saving money. But thanks to today’s economy, a penny saved is a penny wasted. Save any unit currency today, and the next day it won’t be worth even half of that. Money value falls.

So how do the big boys do it? They invest money. There are loads of ways to invest your money. If you are willing to do a bit of hard work, you have the option of buying land and wait for the value to grow up. But maintaining it is, like I said, hard work. Investing in shares do bring you returns, but if the people managing the company screw up, the value of shares go down too, and you loose your money.

So, pretty much the only way to invest your money in something and expect constant growth is, you guessed it, GOLD.

I know certain people who get their drive to make more and more money only to buy gold bullion and stock it up in their safes on in their bank vaults.

As an investment product, Gold and Silver coins and Ignots are the best way to go about. There may never be a better time to buy silver than right now as annual production lies far below demand, and it has been the same for the past 10 years. As for gold, well, for centuries it has been defined as the best form of investment, and there has never been a period when people who have traded in gold have lost money. The prices keep going up.

And above all, it is instantly cashable. So people, stop wasting your money in those useless gadgets. Think of how much money you would be wasting in buying that fancy phone. In two years it would be obsolete and worth nothing. Buy gold or silver for the same value, and in 2 years, you will see that the prices would have gone up far above what banks would offer you as interest.

Brianboiling with Microwaves

Posted in General on March 9th, 2010 by Ravi

Frequency is inversely proportional to Wavelength. While time is constant, the number of cycles per second can be varied, and thus the frequency of a wave is increased, and this reduces the length of the cycle. This way, the frequency is inversely proportional to wavelength.

When the frequency goes in Mega cycles or Mega Hertz, which is number of cycles in the millions, the wavelength naturally comes down to microns, and this is what is called microwaves. Microwaves have popular uses in a microwave oven, but if you don’t realize it, you should know that it is there on your mobile phones too, the piece of plastic that you hold close to your ears (and your brains) to talk to other people.

The microwave oven emits a concentrated wave of 800 watts to 1000 wats with a frequency of 2.4 Ghz, the frequency that makes water resonate and produce heat and cook food. But the frequency band that we use on our phones are equally bad too They won’t cook your brains like the microwave oven does as it certainly doesnt have 800 watts of power or the exact frequency that could make the water resonate, but in the long run, it certainly could do some damage to you.

If you have got so used to cellphones in the last 10 years, try to use a handsfree at the least. Constant exposure to even such smaller amouts of radiation could cause mutation and you could be passing doewn bad genes to your next generation.
