Good money in Charity

Posted On Friday, September 26th, 2008 By Ravi

It has taken me 27 long years to get the enlightenment that I have got today. I am an Indian, and I should help the poor people in my country, or others will come forth and do what you can do but don’t do, and they will project the whole country as a charity case. India is not such a bad country. Well, thanks to the lazy politicians and the bad government officials, the roads and the garbage bins are not always clean, and due to the lack of awareness of people and ofcourse, thanks to a bit of shortage of money, the homes of the people of the lower income group people do not really look like five star hotels. What should the government do about this? If the politicians stop thinking about feeding their pockets for a while and start thinking about how to improve the income of the country or the state, the money problem can be solved easily, and when there is money with the government, it can easily provide useful constructive work to everyone, pay them all well, and that way the social status of people would improve naturally. But the government is not doing Continue Reading

The Keyboard is mightier than a sword

Posted On Friday, August 22nd, 2008 By Ravi

The pen used to be mightier than a sword, and you needed paper to write, and then to get that read by many people to make it mightier than a sword needed a lot of printing presses and a good circulatory system that would deliver the papers or books around for everyone to read, and enough money with the people who would buy the paper or book or hwat not? When the typewriter was invented people tended to write even more, and with the computer things were a lot easier. These days with blogger and wordpress at full swing, and with internet rates coming down every day, people have no problem in punching the keyboards all the time. But still, you have to sign with a pen, and the pen that you use to sing tells a lot about you. And therefore, when you choose the pen that you would be writing with could better be one of those personalized pens that many people fancy pinning to their pockets these days than picking a pen rolled out of production lines.

Where is the money?

The money, unfortulately, is in the client’s pockets, and to bring it legally into your pockets, you need to do a little bit of work. Provide service in such a way that no one would have provided before. First, you need a cool brand name. wehostlinweb is not a cool name at all. Hostgator is a cool name, and I thought, indyahozting is a cool name, and thats why I registered the domain name. Before that I thought webaholics was a cool name, but couldnt get a .com name for that, so I just let it be and now its a blog. Secondly, you need to promote it. During the initial stages, you need to go with adwords. For that you need to have a decent budget. Without regualr ads, any money that you spend on advertising will completely be wasted, except for a few clients that you may get. Thirdly, build as many one way links as possible to your site. Turn to blogs, host blogs in your server, offer them a few free months, get friendly with them, and ask them to write about you. Or ask them to do a paid review. Target blogs with good readership.
