I am foolish at times. I logged into cpanel today and tried to delete my main domain in it. Ravisblog.com, just because I wanted to upload the newer version of wordpress into it since something went wrong in my last automatic update. Being a web host, I should have known that I will not be able to delete my main domain name in which my hosting account is configured on the server, and I just went ahead and clicked on the delete domain button. And the reply I got was, “You cannot Kill yourself. Suicide is not an option.” The admin has to delete the domain, and if he does, all the domain s that you have in your account will be lost. So, I just deleted the folders and files in the account, and uploaded the files again, and the blog is back online now.

Tata may be a world leader in steel, automobiles and stuff, but his recent venture of acquirng VSNL from the Govt of India and running that as an ISP in the brand name of Tata Indicom Broadband doesnt seem to be very good. Not at all to the expectations. And his phones suck too. Both the landlines and the mobiles. The compnay mnages to survive since all Tata employees are given a free Tata Indicom phone and made to pay the bills. I got so pissed off with BSNL that I had to look for a change, and the other ISP that is available in my area is Tata Indicom. If only I had airtel here, it would have been really great. Tata Indicom installed the internet line yesterday at my home. It has a speed of 512 Kbps and is fully unmetered, that means I can download round the clock. The installation charges is about Rs 1650, and there is a security deposit of Rs 1000. So the initial setup fee is Rs 2650. And the so called Post Paid connection is billed in advance. Its over 12 hours since I registered the domain, and i hav enot got an update yet. Domains when registered fresh, should point to a parking page, or to the name server which we have entered. Atleast thats how directi works, and I have been with directi now for a considerable period of time, and I know how it works. These godaddy people responded after about 14 hours since I submitted the support request with them, and that too was a completely stupid pre defined reply, it just means that my problem was not given any attention. I am sure that the domain wont start working even after 24 hours, and when I mail them after 24 hours, they would reply me asking me to wait for 48 hours. And only after the domain stays this way for about a week, they would look into the issue. My 7 days just go wasted. Here is my ticket raised to them and their reply.
