Not many know this, but I’m a smoker since 1996. Thats 13 years of tar and other shit filled up in my lungs. I had to go to schools and colleges in those years, so I wasn’t such a heavy smoker. Smoking became heavy when I started living alone after college. 15 to 20 cigarettes a day is a big number.

I recently decided that I should get rid of this nicotine dependency and become independent. After all, its my nature to live independent. I don’t ask for anyone’s help easily. So why take nicotine’s help for nothing at all and fill my lungs with tar? So, I have kicked the habbit.

Yes, I have stopped smoking. Yes, it is being tough, its not easy to kick any habbit. I’ve been biting my nails since I was about 4 years old, and I’m still doing it.

I was searching the other day for ways to become free of nicotine, and found out about ecigarettes. I know that it has existed for some time now, but the I didn’t like the idea much.

An Atomizer, that heats up a liquid that contains nicotine, vaporizes it, and fills your lungs up with it. No Tar, pure nicotine so lesser harm. Nicotine is just like caffeine, that you consume every day with coffee. It is not as bad as a strong drug, and It is not tough to kick the habbit too. I have spent months together without coffe in the past, so if I can do that I can stay away from nicotine too.

So, I bought this e-cigarette kit from a company called Steamz in Chennai. Called them up, paid $10 with paypal, and they sent me the package through speed post. Wow. I admire people using Government services. I thought the stuff must be cool.

I received it yesterday, fitted the cartridge, primed the atomizer and put the stick in my mouth and sucked deep. And the cartridge that was supposed to to be Banana flavoured smelled like the gas that comes out of the other side of your body when you eat too many bananas.

Anyways, I decided to suck deep and see if it really is as good as the real Wills Navy Cut. To be honest, it did feel just like the cigarette smoke running down your throat to your lungs, but it was just vapor, not smoke, and there was no freakin nicotine in it. Or atleast there wasn’t enough for me.

After a while I got used to the flavor (humans are designed to get used to anything) and smoked it for quite some time. And the battery died in the cigarette.

I called the company up and told them that I have one more cartridge left out of the 2 they sent me and the battery is already dead, and they tell me “No Warranty” :D

Wow. How do you trust them then? The cartridge probably too doesnt come with a warranty, and that could be the possible reason for the smell.

Anyways, that was Rs 500 well wasted, and still I’m not getting back to smoking again. No more Nicotine. I have forced myself to stay away from that stupid stick for about 20 days now, and I hope not to touch it ever after.

One side effect of quitting smoking is getting obese. I have seen that happen to many people, and I have read that in so many places. Well, fuck obesity. I’ll just get good weight loss pills if I expand and cant fit in my chair.
